Moving People. Empowering Communities.
At Connect Logistics, we measure our work by outcomes. We apply the same standard to how we invest in the communities around us.
Our work with the mining and minerals sector moves resources across Southern Africa. That work depends on strong, stable communities, and we believe a responsible logistics partner should help build them. Youth football is one of the most direct ways to do that.
Through our sponsorship of Power City Football Club, a community youth football club, we’ve seen what structure and steady support can achieve. The club now has an official committee of players, parents and community members, and it runs with the accountability we value in our own operations. The number of players has grown to more than 100. This season, the U19 and U13 teams lead their leagues, and the club has won two tournament titles.
Next, the club is working towards registering its players for official SAFA leagues next season.
Connect Logistics CEO Murray Giffin has been involved with the club personally:
“Discipline, teamwork and accountability are what drive success in logistics, and they’re exactly what we see on the field at Power City. Investing in these young players is an investment in the communities we’re part of.”
Club chairman Mr Musa Kweyama said: “With your continued support, we are building future leaders through sport.”
For us, community development is not separate from what we do. It sits inside it. Lasting partnerships are built on trust, service and execution, whether with the businesses we serve or the communities we operate in. We’re proud to stand behind Power City.
